I didn’t visit too many stores here but the ones I visited had really kind staff. They were super nice and patient. The collections in this market was rich. We were able to find something for each family member. This place has a huge variety of clothing items, not just outfits. We were here fairly early so there wasn’t a crowd. I don't know if this place gets crowded later into the day. I'd say the prices are... Hit or miss. Most of the stores don't have fixed price policy so it really depends on how much of a shopping expert you are. To me the prices were mostly agreeable. If you're on a tour and you want to buy some local clothings, this is a place you absolutely must visit

Very old and renowned hand made clothing market. Speciality in 'Saree' -- known as one piece long clothing, verity in colour and design. In primary ages this market was owned only by the largest tribe 'Monipuri'. But now a days, lot of local people are engaged in this traditional local business. This tribal clothing is lucrative and very comfortable.

Monipuri shari market at lamabazar in sylhet. Shari's price are expensive as other tourist place. You have to bargain before purchasing here.

it’s not a single market of multistoried building rather a"para" of couple of mini shops....recently went there for purchasing popular "Monipuri Saree".... need great skill of bargaining to lower the price...Saree price depends on the knitting quality... they act like a fixed price shop bt there is a option to bargain.... may be they act different in pricing with the locals n the outsiders.... there r many handicraft items in the area

One of the very few commercial tourist attractions in Sylhet. Monipuris are an ancient tribe from Sylhet, Bangladesh. They still make cloths out of loom in this days. These cloths are called as "Monipuri/Manipuri Cloths". Price is also not too much, so, it's always an attraction to the prople who are not from here. This market consists of a good number of shops who sell Manipuri loom woven cloths.
