On 23 November 2009 a state owned distinct Company named “Sundarban Gas Company Limited” (SGCL) of Petrobangla was registered at the office of Registrar of Joint Stock Companies & Firms of Khulna. The franchise area of the Company includes Khulna division, Barisal division and greater Faridpur district. The main responsibilities of this Company are to construct distribution pipelines, provide gas connections and post connection services in its franchise area.
