There was a time when this place used to be the most hostile and outcast areas in the sarhai sub-district of Chittagong. The place is now a real life example of how much change can be implemented with collective and whole-hearted effort. The land where a single plant wouldn’t dare growing once, is now nurturing hundreds and thousands of wild, medicinal and fruit bearing plants and trees. Where an individual once dreamt of becoming farmers or four-wheeler drivers, the children of this community are now dreaming to become doctors, engineers and scientists and pursuing these dreams with their utmost effort. They have been winning trophies in several sports competition at a national level- one after the other. The community that once accepted poverty and disease as its destiny now dreams to lead a self-dependant, prosperous life.
in one word, it's a mind blowing place. it's one of the two days safari i had in my life. i am glad that i have visited this place.
