QK Ahmad Foundation was formed under the name of the most Prominent Economist, Think Tank, Social Activist and Environmental Expert Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad. Nature of the Foundation is a non-government, non-profit, non-political, voluntary and charitable organization. Dr Qazi Rushdy Ahmad is the founder of the foundation with the intention to help and uphold the disadvantaged and downtrodden people of Bangladesh, keeping in mind that we are somehow privileged so it is our duty to work for the unprivileged people of our society. The foundation highlights, makes aware and helps if any inconsistency prevails in our society and also promotes those people who work for the betterment of unprivileged part. It advocates participatory approach among all actors who remain in the society, including Government. The activities which will be make functional gradually are poverty eradication and development, prevent inappropriate cultural influences, campaign against drugs abuse, promote pollution free environment, assist campaign ‘violence against women and girls’, promote education for all, including disabled, with the help of other actors present in the society, etc. Major sources of the funds are the members of the QK Ahmad Foundation. Other than the members foundation will accept donations from national and international philanthropic individuals and organizations including government provided that agreeing to the Foundation’s vision/mission, aims and objectives. Obviously, in case of foreign donations the foundation will adhere to the provisions of Foreign Donations (Voluntary Activities) Regulation Ordinance.
