রেনেসাঁ স্থাপত্যের অনুকরণে, বিশ শতকের গোড়ার দিকে ইংরেজ শাসক কর্তৃক নির্মিত হয়েছিল এই ভবনটি। পূর্ববঙ্গ ও আসাম সরকারের গভর্নরের বাসভবন হিসেবে নির্মাণ করা হয়েছিল এ ভবনটি। ১৯৪৭ সালে ভারত বিভাগের পর এখানে স্থাপনা করা হয়েছিল হাইকোর্ট।
