It's one of the memorable places where rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam had passed his days. He stayed there for 70 days & wrote 160 poems & 300 songs. He came here in 1921 with Akbar Ali Khan alongside who had worked in British Army together. Nazrul played flute beneath the trees of the pond where Akbar Ali Khan's niece Syeda Khatun had her bath. Then both of them came closer. Nazrul named Syeda Khatun as Nargish with the name of a flower. Nazrul married her few days later. But Nazrul left her at the first night of their marital life. After that Nazrul was out of light for years to Nargish. Nargish wrote him many letters but Nazrul didn't reply those. Then she was given married to another poet Azizul Hakim, citizen of England. Then the couple left Bangladesh. Though Nazrul replied a letter to Nargish after 15 years. But it was too late. The relation between Nazrul & Nargish is the most tragic in the Bengali literature & history.
