Kamlaghat Is the largest commercial trade centre in munshigonj which stands in Mirkadim municipality. During the British period it was the largest commercial port in East Bengal. Five to six hundred industrial mills and businesses still survive here. Kamalaghat port has hundreds of warehouses for various products besides oil, pulses and flour factories. Wholesalers brought various products including coconut, betel nut, khesari, pulses and sesame from different areas of the southern region of Bangladesh including Barisal.
