Chachra Shiv mandir is a 17th century built temple that is located at the Chachra of Jessore district. It is located exactly 300 meter East from Jessore Chachra Bus stoppage. Chachra Shiv mandir is having terracotta wall. It was left carelessly for many years But recently the department of Bangladesh Archaeology repair the temple and declared this as an archaeological asset of Bangladesh.

Its not a great tourist attraction. But it Is good. A single temple surrounded by walls. The front of the temple is in the opposite side of the road. I don't know when it opens. But i found it closed. So i haven't got the chance to enter into it.

This 17th century monument by Monohor Roy holds the stint of uncompromising time and plunder as it seems. Now in almost restored phase, this temple is uniquely designed as an At-Chala structure which symbolizes the Char-Chala structure of rural bengal's houses built by straws. This thatched roof structure is doubled to imitate that feature with an extra grandeur of its own. Only two sides are restored, though.Original terracotta decoration is restored - this can't be said doubtlessly. Still, it's in far better shape and worth a little visit.

Not a very gorgeous temple like the other big ones, but still is very nice in a seemingly unexpected place by the higway. It is still active to this day.
