This place was the House of the maternal uncle of my grandmother....Barrister Hemanta Ghosh, who donated this place to the Gandhians , after creating the Ambika Kaliganga Trust ( after his parents) to oversee the project. After Bangladesh became independent, this was renamed Gandhi Ashram Trust. I have been the only member of the family who have visited this place in the last 30 years and it is interesting to note that the original structure of the place has been maintained nicely
