Buriganga river and many canals flow through the city.[6] Tropical vegetation and moist soils characterise the land, which is flat. The elevation of Greater Dhaka is 2 to 13 meters above the mean sea level, and most of the urbanised areas are at elevation of 6 to 8 metres. This leaves Dhaka susceptible to flooding during the monsoon seasons owing to heavy rainfall and cyclones.

Dhaka WASA is the only government authority to supply water to the millions of people of Dhaka city. People are not satisfied about the service of WASA but it's doing tough task to supply water to thousands of home. it faced challenges to supply water at summer season when demand of water reach in peak. They are responsible for water ssupply to general people. Have to imporve their service for people.
