National Eidgah Street
N/A
Eidgah is a term used in South Asian Islamic culture to refer to large squares outside the city or suburbs, usually for performing Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha prayers under the open sky. Prayers are not offered at this place at other times of the year. According to the Sunnah, on the morning of Eid, the Muslims gather at the Eidgah after getting clean and tidy. Although Eidgah is a Hindustani word, it is used in other parts of the world to refer to any open space for Eid prayers, as it has no specific Arabic word in Islamic terminology.
