Name of Hall: Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall Head of Office: Professor Dr. Shah Md. Masum Designation: Provost Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall was established in 1940 according to the name of A.K. Fazlul Huq, former prime minister of non-divided Bangla. It is one of the oldest residential Hall of Dhaka University. This Hall was opened with a total of 363 students on Ist July, 1940. Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall is divided into three parts, such as Main Bhavan, South Bhavan and Extension of South Bhavan. There are 262 rooms and 636 seats in this Hall. Total number of students are now 1570 (residents & non residents).

Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall was established in 1940 and named after A. K. Fazlul Huq, former prime minister of undivided Bengal. Fazlul Huq played a major part for establishing Dhaka University.On 16 June 1972, the Syndicate of Dhaka University removed the term "Muslim" from name. The decision was challenged in court by Advocate Shamsul Alam. On 1 March 2004, Bangladesh High Court ordered the University authorities to restore the original name, with "Muslim" included. The linguist Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah was the first provost of the hall. Former chairman of Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman is the current provost of the hall The hall consists of two residential buildings: The three-storey main building The five-storey south building The hall has a library with the books on different subjects. The library is open for non-resident as well as resident students every working day. New books are purchased in every academic year from the University fund.[1] Annual sports are organized every year.[5] Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall Debating Club hosts the National Science Debating Festival annually.

It's a great part of Dhaka University. This hall provide good accomodation for pupils. It is actually shared room, where some students shared their bed. Laid back person cannot stay there, because it's cramped. But around of hall, environment is outstanding as there has several green trees.
