In 1978 MERCK SHARP & DHOME (MSD) USA started their marking operation in Bangladesh with Alco Pharma Ltd. The joint venture business success led to set up a manufacturing facility at this location of Mirpur, Dhaka in 1986. In 1987 MSD decided to stop their operation in Bangladesh and sold their assets to ALCO Pharma. Now they have over 1000 employees and more than 180 products in market.
