The graveyard of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam is located next to the Dhaka University Central Jame Mosque. Rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam died in Dhaka in August 1976. Soon after the war of independence, Father of Nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman brought the rebellious poet from India to this country and gave him the status of national poet. Towards the end of his life he was mentally and physically ill. According to the last wish expressed through the song, the poet was buried next to the Dhaka University Mosque.

It is situated inside Dhaka University area, by the side of Central Mosque of Dhaka University and nearby to the Public Library of Dhaka University. There is a complex and a collection showcase of poet's works. Green and clean environment.
