The traditional Shahid Hadis Park in Khulna is a well-known place. It is situated in the center of Khulna city. Its location is on the western side of Bangladesh Bank Khulna branch. The park was established in 1884 to entertain the people of the city. That time its name was Khulna Municipality Park. Later, during the mass upsurge on February 21, 1969, in the procession against Aiyoub khan, Sheikh Haddisur Rahman Babu was killed from the gunfire by police. He was from Bagerhat district in Khulna region. So, to respect his contribution the park is named after him as Shahid Hadis Park. The condition of the park was not good enough just before few years. Now the park has been developed and modernized. A new martyr monument has been built in the park similar to the central Shaheed Minar of Dhaka. The condition of the park has been totally changed and upgraded than before. Who visited the park before few years can’t imagine the changes. A Modern fountain has been installed in the park. There is a mini bridge over the big pond around the fountain. The bridge is also decorated with beautiful lighting, which creates an amazing environment in the evening with its colorful light. The free wifi facility also has been added to the park. A Walkway is built around the park's pond. Hundreds of people take morning walks every day in the park. From the afternoon to night, thousands of people spend their time here. The park has become a most important recreational place for the city people of Khulna. Many cultural programs are also held here on various occasions. Besides this nature attraction, there are four more nature attractions listed in Khulna. There's also twelve attractions listed in this district in other categories. You will find the exact location of Shahid Hadis Park on the map above.

Center Shaheed Minar is in Hadis Park, was rebuilt in 2012 and got a great new shape. It is the symbol of our great sacrificial phenomenon to establish mother tongue. Local people of Khulna city use to be there to show their felt respect to the national heroes those who have sacrificed their life for the country. Especially on the National Language Day - 21st February, people got to wait in a long queue to reach their flowers of love to the Martyrs' departed soul.

The Shaheed Minar (Bengali: শহীদ মিনার Shohid Minar lit. "Martyr Monument") is a national monument in Bangladesh, established to commemorate those killed during the Bengali Language Movement demonstrations of 1952 in then East Pakistan. On 21 and 22 February 1952, students from Dhaka University and Dhaka Medical College and political activists were killed when the Pakistani police force opened fire on Bengali protesters who were demanding official status for their native tongue, Bengali.[1] The massacre occurred near Dhaka Medical College and Ramna Park in Dhaka. A makeshift monument was erected on 23 February[2][3] by students of Dhaka medical collegeand other educational institutions, but soon demolished on 24 February[3] by the Pakistani police force. The Language Movement gained momentum, and after a long struggle, Bengali gained official status in Pakistan (with Urdu) in 1956. To commemorate the dead, the Shaheed Minar was designed and built by Bangladeshi sculptors Hamidur Rahman in collaboration with Novera Ahmed. Construction was delayed by martial law, but the monument was finally completed in 1963, and stood until the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, when it was demolished completely during Operation Searchlight. After Bangladesh gained independence later that year, it was rebuilt. It was expanded in 1983. National, mourning, cultural and other activities are held each year on 21 February (Ekushey February) to mark Language Movement Day or Shaheed Dibas (Martyrs' Day), centred on the Shaheed Minar. Since 2000, 21 February is also recognised as International Mother Language Day.
