It is one of the well decorated and beautiful railway stations in Bangladesh. As we know Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh so trains from all over Bangladesh come here regularly. It's the most busiest station in Bangladesh. construction was started in 1950s and finished the construction in 1968. The first train was deported from here in 30 April 1968 at 11:10 p.m.

This is the largest railway junction in Bangladesh. Someone can go almost anywhere of the country by train from here, only few exceptions. Bangladesh railway now provides normal standing and sitting tickets as well as AC chairs and cabins. Their services have been improved a lot recently. This station is clean and nice nowadays, Black tickets have been banned and stopped for good. There is a hotel and restaurant on the upper floors and few ATM booths for the convenience of passengers. One should buy train tickets preferably few days earlier of the journey either online or from the station ticket counter. These station is an iconic place of Dhaka because of its importance as well as the beautiful architectural design. I hope Govt. will pay more attention to improve this more.

Train leaves to all the divisions of Bangladesh. Has provisions for washrooms, clean water , rest rooms. You can even stay at small okish hotels at the upper floors if needed. For ticketing you can use online or the counter. But the saddest part is it is syndicated by the blackers. Services have been improved in recent times, specially in post Covid timed.
