It is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Agriculture which is responsible for research on all crops except paddy, jute, sugarcane and tea. It is located at Joydebpur in Gazipur district. The environment inside is very beautiful. It is rich in plants, flowers, fruits, hurbs, aesthetic rows ornamental trees, playing grounds, clean environment that will captivate you. A lot of time has been spent here and a lot of sweet memories are involved around this location.
BARI is the largest multi-crop research institute in the country. The institute conducts research on the development of high yielding varieties of cereals, tubers, pulses, oilseeds, vegetables, fruits, spices, flowers, etc. The institute conducts research on soil and crop management, disease pest and pest management, water and irrigation management, development of agricultural machinery, development of farm systems, innovation of post-harvest technology and socio-economic production, processing, marketing and quantification.
