MP Shaheber Goli (MP alley)

This road is known as এমপি সাহেবের গলি in Bangla or MP Alley in English after late M. Muzaffar Ali, my grandfather, who purchased the 9 Charak Ghata plot (এমপি সাহেবের বাড়ি in Bangla, MP Residence in English) at the dead end of this road in September 1972. On 15/05/1986, he and nine landowners handed over the road (13 feet wide, starting from plot # 6 and ending at the gate of our house on plot # 9) to the then Dhaka Municipal Corporation. Mr. Ali was a Member of Parliament (1973), an organizer of Liberation War of Bangladesh (1971), an activist of Language Movement (1952), a member of the Drafting Committee of Bangladesh Constitution (1972), a member of Constituent Assembly (1972), a member of National Provincial Assembly (1970), Founder of Muzaffar Ali High School & College in Homna of Comilla and founder Muzaffar Ali Foundation in Sonargaon of Narayanganj.
