One of the major themes that will definitely dominate the third millennium is Computer Science and Information Technology. In Order to take a share in the Scientific and Commercial advancement of the challenging new world, education in computer technology and the need of skilled computer personnel are essential are with this end in view Dhaka City College introduced 4-year B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science from the session 1998-1999. In the Speed of education and the development of communication including almost all important aspects of life, computer has ushered in a new era. The developed world, however, has already succeeded in adopting computer technology most extensively. Nevertheless, the fact remains that the developing countries like Bangladesh have not advanced at the same pace in this field. Yet, in the age of globalization, we are no secluded island nor can we sustain our existence being isolated from the world as a whole. As a result, the extensiveness in the use of computer in education, business, financial organizations, government and non-government sectors has become an imperative in our country too. Dhaka City College has always been untiringly sincere in presenting the nation with skilled personnel capable of contributing substantially in nation-building activities. With a view to maintaining this endeavor as well as nourishing our long-cherished desire of making this institution A Centre of Excellence , Dhaka City College has already moved one step further towards its goal with the introduction of 4 year B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science and Engineering from the session 2006-2007

Dhaka City College (Bengali: ঢাকা সিটি কলেজ) also known as DCC, is one of the oldest private college in the country of Bangladesh. It is located at Qudrat-i-Khuda road, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. It offers Honors and Masters degree programs as well as higher secondary education (HSC).[1] The college is affiliated with the National University of Bangladesh.The college was established in 1957, during the Pakistani ruling period, with the patronage of local educators and social workers. Classes were held at the West End High School and afterwards at Dhaka College. In 1970, college activities were moved to their own premises in Road 2 of the Dhanmondi residential area.[3] Prior to this, it was known as "Dhaka Night College." Khan Bahadur Abdur Rahman and Ataur Rahman Khan, both former prime ministers of Bangladesh, contributed significantly to the college's establishment.[4] Khaney Alom Khan, former chairman of the college's governing body, arranged financial assistance for the development of the academic buildings while he was the divisional commissioner of Dhaka Division.

Dhaka City College is neat and clean. It is also a well organised educational institution. But the Department of Businesses Administration faculty is a little bit odd because of some absurd rules implied upon the students by some mentally imbalanced teachers. Otherwise it is a good place for learning!
